Hans Krafft, Wittenberg, 1581. The Wittenberg Luther Bible from 1581 (printed by the heirs of Hans Krafft) is a rare and historical edition of the complete German Bible. This edition was specifically commissioned by Elector Augustus of Saxony, who wanted to standardize the Bible text to maintain strict Lutheran orthodoxy.
