Avon Fantasy Reader No. 1 1947 Digest of Weird Tales edited by Donald A. Wollheim 1947 The first in this classic weird/horror digest line. Weird skull/ghouls cover art, reminiscent of Matt Fox. Clark Ashton Smith, H.G. Wells and A. Merritt are standouts. VG/F Solid square copy with full paper spine, no bad creases, light edge and corner wear. Lamination is missing from the front and spine – mostly there on the back with some soiling at bottom (missing lamination is common on 95% of copies of this one) The lam fared much better on #2 and 3 although they discontinued it entirely after that. .
