Original brown cloth binding with rubbing, edge wear, and scattered surface marks. Front hinge is cracked with exposed gutter at the front, though the text block remains attached and binding remains sound. Pencil notation present on the front endpaper. Two front free endpapers have clipped corners. Pages are lightly toned with occasional foxing. Original front map pocket remains present but empty; the five route maps called for in the pocket are not present. Folding maps and plans bound within the text remain present, including the large William Gray folding map, which remains attached but shows a tear near the gutter and center fold.
